Meta’s new AI-powered Segment Anything Model 2 (SAM 2) is capable of identifying which pixels belong to a target object in an image or video. This means that it can segment any object and consistently follow it across all frames of a video in real-time, whether it be for video editing purposes or mixed reality experiences.
You’ve seen MIT’s KnittedKeyboard II, now check out CMU’s Solid Knitting Machine. Similar to 3D printers, this machine builds objects by layers with material fed through an automated system that consists of a series of hooked needles with latches that can be instructed to engage with manipulating the yarn.
Playing Windows XP sounds on instruments is one thing, using custom MIDI dials to manipulate an AI image generator image in real-time is another. Johannes Stelzer accomplishes the latter by with Stable Diffusion‘s SDXL Turbo, which creates a baseline image of “photo of a red brick house, blue sky”.

The upcoming Tesla Model Y Juniper refresh may have redesigned rear lights, or at least according to this leaked photo. We know the recent Model 3 refresh does not have the new rear LED light bar, just adaptive headlights designed to improve visibility for other drivers and reduce glare.

We’re less than 2-months away from the official unveiling, but if these iPhone 16 dummy phones are accurate, the standard 6.1-inch model doesn’t look too much different from its predecessor. However, there does appear to be a couple of new colors, namely the aqua blue and teal.
